Greetings from the US!

Post  guitarmandanga on Fri Aug 07, 2009 3:47 am

Stumbled across this by accident, having read the term "kriegsspiel" in David
Dezter's Donnybrook. Curiosity got the better of me. I'd also heard of Paddy
Griffith from Battle Tactics of the Civil War (I have to confess that, although
I have both copies---illustrated and regular---I still love the illustrated best! Very Happy)

Other than Stratego and Risk, my experiences with wargames have been limited
to computer games and PBEMs. Never played any boardgames or miniatures
games. Oh well.

My main interest is the ACW. I've moderated four different PBEM games for that time
period, all of my own design. The first one was a flop, the second took a full year
to complete, the third came to an abrupt end when real life came crashing down around
me, and the fourth I'm still moderating (almost a year old). It's quite a learning curve!

Greetings. The Kriegsspiel principles are ideal for ACW, being of the same period. If you have been doing PBEM then you already have much understanding of the kind of games we do. Perhaps you will be able to expand your play with members here. bounce

I think Lugnakh meant Kreigsspiel - not Kansas...

I'm up in New Hampshire myself.

On the other hand, one of the pockets of KS is in KS (and MO) -- Kansas City. Smile

I've thought about this recently. I think I'll make an announcement in the main forums.
