Hello from Andy Grainger (a/k/a Nichtstadt)
How I wish I had more time to take part in Kriegsspiels. Much of my spare time is taken up with editing Mars & Clio, see www.bcmh.org.uk for details. Congratulations on a splendid forum and the website. Looking at the 1896 rules I wonder if they would work for a game like Nery 1914 or, at least, the initial scouting phase. Richard Holmes's 'Riding the Retreat' [from Mons] has good info on this and a number of other cavalry actions in the campaign.
