Civil War Cavalry

Since cavalry, at least in the game, has become a central theme, perhaps some of you enthusiast for the mounted service might appreciate some written observations.  Here are some publications by Stephen Starr on the Union Cavalry.

Starr also delivered talk to the CINCINNATI CIVIL WAR ROUND TABLE in April 1959.  I think that if you have the time to read this monograph, you will find some interesting observations on both sides of the "Border."

Martin, pay special attention to his brief discussion regarding Forrest and John Hunt Morgan/Basil Duke.  I think you will find it very interesting.

How about a discussion on the use of the saber in the Federal cavalry. This one you will have to get through inter-library loan,
