Which edition to buy?
Hi everybody!
I am about to buy a copy of the Kriegsspiel rules and I was wondering edition you would recommend I'd buy, the 1824 or the 1862 version that is sold on toofatlardies?
Regards,
Ilhan

If you're only going to get one (instead of getting both), and you're not sure which era you prefer, then get the 1824 edition. It's the foundation which all the others come from.

Definitely agree with James.
Get the 1824. It has the 1826 amendments in them and, in my mind, helps you understand the "why" of Kriegsspiel better than some of the later editions.
Best,

Re: Which edition to buy?
Hi everybody!
Thanks for the fast replies!
Would there be anything else I'd need to understand Kriegsspiel? I mean, I am from (former) Prussia, but (maybe unfortunately?) not a Prussian officer.
Regards,
Ilhan

The 1824 rules have a fairly complete explanation of how things work; if that fails, then feel free to ask here.
