Enjoy the weekend all. I need to prep for my courses and take care of domestic responsibilities. This also serves as a preventative measure to stay out of trouble with the supreme grand Marshall of the household. See you next time

I'd qualify that to it being a bad place to be if you were in the Austrian infantry. I was a French infantry commander and just had to hold the line in square for an hour with guns in between them and ride from square to square giving the fellows a few words of encouragement. After an hour our cavalry and guns had broken the enemy cavalry and part of his infantry and we counter attacked, driving the enemy from the field in confusion (except for his 3rd division which was about to stab Grog in the back from the west.

We did have a CTD for our host but it was about 15 minutes from the end so I'd count this game as a success. As Pepe and Kevin said it was intense and spectacular and probably ranks among my top ten most exciting SoW battles.

As I had a lot of standing about I was able to take many screenshots. I attach the link to these in my Dropbox because there's too many to show here. I hope you enjoy the spectacle in some of them half as much as I enjoyed the battle (that made me sound like Bilbo Baggins).

Some excellent pictures in there. You should post a few.

Yes the screenshots are very good. It is possible to track some of Martin's units through the battle. The start of the Austrian attack is intimidating, there are very nice shots of our line and the depth of the battlefield and that infantry charging the square has no price. Thanks for sharing Martin.  Very Happy

So Pat, next sunday, if we are lost in a foggy map, we can't see the sun or the stars and we don't speak the language of the country in order to ask the peasants. What can we do to get from point A to point B and find the enemy? Who would be the Corps' navigator? scratch

The trick is to communicate in non specific ways .... "Go this way" .... "We are making good time" ... "The enemy is not far away" ....

Nice pics Martin
