Kevin,

In the last 2 games that we played against the AI I noticed that they use their CAV early and very aggressive. In both games I was attacked by the AI's cav within the first 15 or so minutes. Have you noticed that also?

No, the attack against me by the AI cavalry came late in the battle. The AI mixes it up when using cavalry. Sometimes it is the first to attack and other times it waits patiently behind the infantry. Likely the AI senses your fear and loathing of the cavalry and uses that fact to its advantage. pale

I managed to extradite an infantry division away from a mixed force of cavalry and infantry. Required patience and micromanagement. I use a Sq Ln Sq Ln Sq formation, slightly staggered to try and maintain firepower with lines. Works pretty well; squares insolate the lines.

Kevin, you might want to amend your response to:

That would more accurately reflect what happened in response to Mike's original question. But yes other than that initial foray the cavalry was not truly active until later.

You might also want to check movement rates and rate of fatigue. You horses were not very responsive as far as I could see and I got a high number of reports from you saying how tired your brigade was.
