New to the forum, greetings from Canada

Post  B Betts on Fri Apr 29, 2011 1:32 am

Hello,
I have just joined the forum after playing board war games for about 10 years. I've found myself becoming more and more disillusioned with the board game experince and more interested in what Kriegspiel has to offer. I have the Kriegspiel rules from TFL and recently acquired The British Army Tactical Wargame 1956 which has really peaked my interst in running a PBEM with these rules.

My main interest is WW2 North Africa, East Front, but I am interested in expanding my horizon (maybe as far as the West Front ha-ha)

Unfortunately my play will have to be restricted to email games unless there are a few people here from the Ottawa area.

Cheers,
Bill

Welcome. cheers

I am very keen on North Africa too! Unfortunately we do not have too many people near you but maybe you can recruit a few. king farao Board games can be good although I tend to prefer block games that add some uncertainty to a game. I am not too convinced by the old 'SPI' style which give Olympian views to the players with 'total' information. Generally we tend to do nineteenth century scenarios but other topics get a look in. We had an Eastfront game last year. Anyway, I hope we can be of service.
