Converting a Map Into a Wargames Table

Post  okane73 on Tue Apr 09, 2013 5:22 am

Some time ago, I wanted to convert my Shiloh ACW map into a war games table. I have never attempted anything like this before and would appreciate any advise as to the best materials to use. I was thinking of using various thickness of cardboard. Any links to similar projects would also help.

What scale are you thinking of?

Scale

Was thinking of 1/7500, maybe what I am picturing is more of a 3d map than a traditional wargames table. Something that can be re arranged every game.

I guess cardboard is the way to go as you can overlay a map and build up gradual contours also scratch build houses as well if you wanted the full 3d effect.
